Infant Massage has been a part of the world’s culture for centuries. Brought back to the United States by Vimala Schneider McClure in the 1970’s, this technique taught to parents and caregivers can help baby cope with their new and ever changing surroundings with nurturing touch.
Parents, Dads included, can also enjoy many benefits from massaging their babies. As you massage your baby, the physical skin-to-skin contact helps to release hormones that promote relaxation. A more relaxed Dad and a more relaxed baby leads to a closer bond and more positive attitude about your role as a parent. And this close contact helps you learn to read your baby's cues and respond more effectively to her needs, resulting in a happier baby and a more confident parent. In short, massaging your baby helps promote bonding and provides a special time that fosters mutual love, compassion, and respect between you and your baby.
Classes are available in private or group settings for about an hour to an hour and a half.
